The Memorial Day Ruck for Mental Health

During the struggle of the coronavirus pandemic everyone has had their own problems and trials. However, the individuals feeling more pressure than most during this stressful time are veterans. Just recently, the Department of U.S. Veteran Affairs released statistics showing that nearly 22 veterans commit suicide every day, more than 8,000 yearly. The money we raise will go directly to the 22 Warriors Foundation, and from there they will provide services for veteran families, and fund research. With their help and your generous donations, we can reduce suicide rates and break stigmas surrounding mental health disorders in the military. 

To further increase awareness, Cdt Vincent Sablich (Boston College) and I will be rucking 30 miles from our neighborhood to the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville and back. Upon arrival at the cemetery we will reflect and honor the brave men and women who have come before us and served. Additionally, we hope to have many around us at the cemetery to join in prayer and remembrance. (This may change due to COVID-19).
