How do you start your life, after more than half of it has been spent in prison? How do you begin to navigate the world in pandemic, at 34yrs old, when you were forced to come of age in a cell? These are difficult challenges Myon will navigate, with the emotional support from his family, in his first year as a free man.
Myon finally has a chance to BEGIN his life – he deserves the support it takes to find a place to live and begin life, for the first time as an adult, while also navigating the outside world in pandemic.

This funding campaign is set up and run by the Liberation 4 Myon Coalition, under direction of Ianna Burrell and approval from Myon Burrell. The previous gofundme under "Justice for Myon Burrell" has raised funds for that have been used for Myon's legal fees. Ianna & the coalition wanted a new gofundme set up with the sole focus of funds for Myon to use beginning his life. All contributions will go directly into a bank account set up for Myon by the family.
Myon Burrell was wrongly convicted at 16yrs old for a crime he did not commit.

On December 15, 2020 Myon's life sentence was commuted to 20 years, 18 years of which he has already served, to be released immediately under supervision. This was not the pardon he deserves to be fully exonerated, but it is a start and means Myon was able to be released from prison that night to join his family. There's more work to do to make sure Myon received complete justice for losing 18 years of his life.
