Replacing the Sentinel Pest Services Vehicle

THE STORY

Hello!

My name is Stephan Watson, and I am the owner and sole technician for Sentinel Pest Services. I started working in pest control a decade ago, not knowing how the career would impact my life. Since then, I've worked with 2 of the top pest control companies in the world. And, I've attained education and certification in Pest Management from Purdue University. I've invested years into educating myself on current and effective pest control techniques, to become a reliable technician that can deliver results.

In August of 2020, I started my own pest control company. Since starting Sentinel Pest Services, I've been able to steadily grow a customer base. I've invested time, finances, and other resources into establishing a professional website and variety of services. I've also worked to give basic DIY tips and proven techniques to any that are in need. I've been able to purchase necessary equipment, PPE, and products to service customers on their issues. The only issue I've run into, is the vehicle I use for work.

The 2000 Chevy Tahoe that I drive has been rather well maintained, but is still and older vehicle with aged and worn parts that continually need to be replaced. Also, the Tahoe is not the ideal work vehicle for a pest control company. Poor gas mileage and a lack of storage space really bring out the inefficiencies of this vehicle. My plan was to wait until the end of the Summer, and purchase a work truck with whatever revenue I'd generated. However, a recent accident and some more needed maintenance has made it apparent that waiting isn't really an option anymore.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

I'm asking for donations from anyone that can help me replace my Tahoe for a newer, more efficient work truck. I'm asking for $10K which, should either secure a large enough down payment for a great work truck that will fit within my budget; or buy a used but adequate work truck. There are a few standards with the truck that are necessary for the kind of work I'm doing too:

- Full sized cab
- 4 Wheel Drive (I work in many rural and mountainous regions)
- Good Gas Mileage
- Truck bed large enough to put in a tool container and carry a ladder.

All donations will be attributed towards attaining the vehicle, and hopefully wrapping the truck with business related items. Any additional funds collected will be attributed SOLELY for business needs. I'm not expecting to raise more than my limit, but in that unlikely event, there are quite a few items and services that could greatly assist my business.

HOW I PLAN TO SHOW MY APPRECIATION

GoFundMe was the most ideal crowdfunding platform that I could most accurately use with my needs. However, I'm not quite able to do "perks" like I wanted to on this platform. I want to be able to thank all who help me. So I've thought of a few things I know I'll be able to do. Anyone that donates will be credited up to $100 in services. I'm only able to service in Utah, so I'm sorry that I won't be able to offer services to those outside of my state. However, I can definitely assist you whatever pest issues you're experiencing via online methods. Also to anyone that donates $250 or more, I would like to thank you by putting your name/business in a special "Thank you for donating" area on the tailgate of the truck. Depending on the truck, space may be quite limited. I'm open to other suggestions, and am looking into other "perk" ideas that may be shippable.
