Earl Nightingale defines success as the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. My mother tells me that as early as age 3, I would reach at golf clubs whenever she made trips to the local thrift shop. I was born and raised in a small city called Macon, GA where sports like football and basketball are big, but nobody I knew played golf. For some reason though, I was drawn to the game. At night I would fall asleep watching the golf channel with a determined idea to one day be a professional golfer.
With the help of my family, I found a golf teacher in John Crawford who began to give me lessons at Bowden Golf Course. I literally played every chance I got and with hard work and dedication, I began to grow into a serious player. Throughout my middle and high school years as a junior golfer I began to win multiple junior golf tournaments through Bowden Golf Course, the GA State Golf Association, and even the Junior Peach Blossom Tournament where I landed a spot on the Wall of Fame at Idle Hour Country Club.
After graduating highschool, I received a full ride to Lemoyne-Owen College in Memphis, TN for my performance in golf and academics.
During my time at LeMoyne-Owen I was the captain of the golf team for the three years that I played. During my time playing I won three times individually, earned 2nd team All-conference in 2017, and SIAC All-tournament team in 2018. I also led the team to making school history by helping secure our first team victory ever which we won our home tournament by seven shots with me winning individually by three.
It is now my goal to take my career to the next level and continue my journey towards what I believe to be my worthy ideal. Becoming a professional golfer is my way to give back to my community by:
Applying the lessons that I have learned from my family and mentors
Demonstrating to young people who come from similar backgrounds that they can be successful regardless of obstacles and difficult circumstances
Using the resources that I gain to help foster the next generation of leaders through golf
To accomplish these goals, I am asking that you support today by making a generous donation to help cover:
Tournament registration fees
Travel, lodging, and food costs
