Flirting w Destiny: WNM's 1st Web-series

Howdy Folks! WELCOME to the page for the Supernatural Web-series "Flirting w/ Destiny"! We are so happy that you've made time to swing by.
-The Story-

 Broke, Beautiful, but Boughie, Destiny Simmons  always has her hands full. She does her best to traverse the ruthless world of Online Dating, while living the life of a struggling actor, and holding her family together. However, everything changes when a peculiar gift from her eccentric Aunt rouses her dormant magical abilities and opens the dooHer life will never be the same.

Your time, love, and support means so much to us. It means a lot that you support artists and also artists from marginalized groups. This project is all about Quirky Magics, Funny Dialogue, and Grounded Relationships. These are the types of stories that most of us grew up

watching while rarely seeing anyone who looked like us on screen. So, we decided to create a series of our own that represented us and what we hope you would like to see on screen. 

Being a part of this project isn't just important to us. It's also important to all of the young dreamers out their who should know that their work is important and that they deserve representation in the media just like anybody else. 

-The Team-

Dureyea Rashad - PRODUCER/SHOWRUNNER - The founder and artistic Director of Woe Nelly Media. Dureyea Rashad has a BFA in Theater Performance with a double focus in Directing and Acting from Columbus State University. He began writing 10 years ago and continues to create new series with other artists. His plans for Woe Nelly Media have only just begun. 

Alex Mac - DIRECTOR - cinephile, francophone, and overall literary juggernaut hails from sunny Sedona. Fellow film buff and geek culture enthusiasts, Alex Mac  has had her heart and head in film since she was a child. She most recently directed multiple episodes of  "Finding You" a web series on YouTube

Cody Paul Francis - DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY - Cody Paul Francis is a entrepreneur and a digital media production maven. He founded his company Cody Paul Media to inspire content creators into their best work and has since helped some of his clients multiply their subscribers from the 100's to the thousands in just a matter of months. 

Liz Schad - WRITING TEAM - Liz Schad graduated from Columbus State University with a BFA in Theater Performance and has since has a hefty career as an actor, producer, director, and writer in the Greater Atlanta Area. She is currently in her last semester of Graduate School for Television Writing and is excited to be a part of this project with Woe Nelly Media. 

-The Company-

Woe Nelly Media is a digital media production company that was founded during the pandemic as a means to create art, inspire creativity, and bring together people from all different walks of life. 

MISSION: to create thoughtful and extraordinary experiences that honor the beauty and complexities of our shared existence.

VISION: to produce content that inspires joy, promotes diversity, informs social progression, and effects changes. While at the same time paving the way for a harmonious future.

From conception to reality, this will be our first fully self produced work of art. We are a team of multitalented and driven individuals who support in each other in a multitude of projects. In addition to this and our work in digital media marketing we also produce podcasts and live streams including "Talk It Out", and sociopolitical discussion and debate show, and "Geekin' Out" a power hour of Geek Culture mania and celebration. 

-Our Progress-

WE WILL UPDATE THIS SECTION PERIODICALLY

We have written the script for the first episode and determined a tentative date for filming. We have incorporated a writing team as well as selected our Director and of Director of Photography. We have also organized our team and the core group of our actors.  This fundraiser will help us determine if we are able to film on our target date. Right now we aim to begin filming either at the end of May or the beginning of June. 

Before that time of course we will focus on rounding out or cast and crew, scouting locations, and compiling equipment,.

-Where Donations Will Go-

This project will hopefully be the first of many, but we absolutely need your support. The funds will go toward helping up buy the best equipment for filming, including lighting equipment, sound equipment, camera equipment. It will help cover any rental/location fees, editing, special effects, and composition. It will most importantly allow us to keep our cast and crew with full bellies during our production. We also hope that these funds will help us to maneuver in the case of any unforeseen roadblocks that come up between now and post production. 

We need your donations as soon as possible because we hope to begin filming during the last part of May 2021. Don't worry. We wont rush. We want this project to be the absolute best it can be but this all starts with your assistance and our perseverance.
