Help Mr. BBQ Employees

Hi my name is Lindsay Cumback. I am the daughter of Kiwan and Karen, owners of Mr. BBQ at Mystic Oak. In the early morning hours on November 27th the clubhouse caught on fire. The damage has resulted in a total loss of the upstairs banquet room which was booked throughout December for events. The main dining room sustained a lot of damage from the smoke and water and will be closed until repairs can be made. Food, drinks, and supplies have to be thrown out because of smoke damage and utilities cannot be turned on. It will be a long road ahead but I have no doubt they will come out of this stronger and better than before. The owners of Mystic Oak Golf Course and my parents are working hard to get back to business.

 

The outpouring of support over the past 2 days has been overwhelming and many asking "how can I help?".

 

I have set up this Go Fund Me to collect money for the employees of Mr. BBQ at Mystic Oak who will be out of work during the closure. My parents held a meeting with their 20 employees today and told them between insurance and their personal funds they will do everything they can to keep them afloat during the closure and holidays. Their team is made up of parents, students, and young adults who count on their shifts and tips. By donating to this Fund, you can help put the extra cash in their pocket during this time of uncertainty. This could help buy Christmas gifts for their children, put gas in their car, or pay a bill. If you've ever worked in the restaurant industry, you know you count on those good shifts to get you through! Unfortunately, they wont have the opportunity for the holiday rush and banquets that were scheduled.
