Help The Barn Thrive - Roof Repairs & More

Tax deductible
The Barn Theater is in need of your help. The loss of income during the COVID-19 shut down has our historic theater scraping to survive and pay the monthly bills.

The Barn Theater was established in 1948. It is the longest, continuously running community theater this side of the Mississippi. We've done everything we possibly could to put on a show during Covid so that this accomplishment wouldn't be lost.

The Barn was a home to legends like Ann B. Davis from The Brady Bunch, Kirsten Vangsness from Criminal Minds and has housed the talents of Lawrence Moran, Christopher Swindle, Della Atherton, David Atherton and many more!

Most importantly, The Barn is a place that many call their home. It's a place where anyone in the community can feel welcome. It's a place where so many types of art are birthed and encouraged. It's a place that provides entertainment for our community and opportunities for showcasing the talent that our community holds.

The reality is, there isn't enough income for any additional expenses, aside from our monthly utilities & Royalties for the productions we put on. The Barn needs some very necessary repairs done as soon as possible.

The roof had to be repaired, and was thanks to so many generous donations. We will never be able to accurately express our gratitude.  It has been wonderful seeing rain, and not having to figure out how to collect the drops that fall inside The Theater!

Still on the must to list is finishing the AC/Heating unit, and improving the online ticket sales system. The list goes on and on, as it would for any historic building, but these are high priority!

The focus right now is getting the AC/Heating unit completely finished so that our actors and audiences can be comfortable. This improvement will also help our costume storage loft to stay at the correct temperature, protecting several vintage pieces. At this time the heat started destroying our costumes, and the cold brings it's own challenges!

Our second focus is to get a Point of Sale system that works more efficiently so that our audience has better access to buying tickets and our Treasurer easier access to keep our accounting organized.
