THE PROJECT
"Cycling for Inclusion" is a fundraising project aimed at promoting social inclusion in the city of Parma, by donating bicycles to those who do not currently own one. The main objective of the project is to provide an accessible mobility solution to people who would otherwise find it difficult to obtain a bicycle for financial or other reasons. The project was born from the idea of two friends, Nicolò and Timoteo, who this summer will cross Europe from Amsterdam to Sarzana (SP) by bicycle: we pedal to donate bicycles.
ARTE MIGRANTE (website)
The bicycles collected through the project will be donated to the association Arte Migrante Parma, which has been committed to promoting the inclusion of marginalized figures within the city through artistic and cultural events for five years. The headquarters of their events is in Parma, at the Biblioteca Cittadella Solidale. Discover the origins and history of Arte Migrante in the following video, born in Bologna and then spread to several Italian cities including Parma.
FIAB PARMA AND THE BICI SOLIDALI PROGRAM (website)
In all this, the Parma division of FIAB will help us, an Italian federation whose aim is to promote the 360° dissemination of the bicycle as a daily means of transport, both within and outside the cities. Through the "BiciSolidali" project, FIAB Parma recovers, restores and donates used, abandoned or damaged bicycles, giving them a second life. The funds raised through the "Cycling for inclusion" project will be made available to FIAB for their restoration.
HOW WE WILL USE THE COLLECTED FUNDS
The funds raised will be used as follows:
- The first 500€: restoration of 20 bicycles by FIAB PARMA and a bicycle with a cart to be able to take Arte Migrante to the squares of Parma;
- The next 500€: purchase of accessories for bicycles such as lights, locks and bells;
- The next 500€: for the support of the activities carried out by Arte Migrante (events, demonstrations and performances);
- The additional proceeds will be donated for the future purchase of other bicycles and for the support of Arte Migrante Parma.
THE TRIP (the track)
On August 15th, Nicolò and Timoteo will depart from Amsterdam with the goal of arriving in Sarzana (SP) on August 30th. They are expecting 1,400km and 10,000 meters of altitude difference, crossing the Netherlands, Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy. They will travel light, with only their bikes, a few bags and a tent to sleep in.

IL PROGETTO
"Cycling for Inclusion" è un progetto di raccolta fondi mirato a promuovere l'inclusione sociale all'interno della città di Parma, donando biciclette a coloro che al momento non ne possiedono una. L'obiettivo principale del progetto è fornire una soluzione di mobilità accessibile a persone che altrimenti avrebbero difficoltà a ottenere una bicicletta per ragioni finanziarie o altre limitazioni. Il progetto nasce da un’idea di due amici, Nicolò e Timoteo, che questa estate attraverseranno l’Europa da Amsterdam a Sarzana (SP) in biciletta: pedaliamo per donare biciclette.
ARTE MIGRANTE (visita il loro sito)
Le biciclette raccolte tramite il progetto saranno donate all'associazione Arte Migrante Parma, che da cinque anni si impegna nel promuovere l’inclusione di figure emarginate all’interno della città attraverso eventi artistici e culturali. La sede dei loro eventi è a Parma, alla Biblioteca Cittadella Solidale. FIAB PARMA e IL PROGRAMMA BICI SOLIDALI (visita il loro sito)
In tutto ciò ci aiuterà la divisione parmigiana di FIAB, federazione italiana il cui scopo è promuovere a 360° la diffusione della bicicletta come mezzo di trasporto quotidiano, sia dentro che fuori dalle città.
Attraverso il progetto «BiciSolidali», FIAB Parma recupera, restaura e dona biciclette usate, abbandonate o malmesse, regalandogli una seconda vita. I fondi raccolti attraverso il progetto “Cycling for inclusion” verranno messi a disposizione di FIAB per il loro restauro.
COME UTILIZZEREMO I FONDI RACCOLTI
I fondi raccolti verranno utilizzati nel seguente modo:
- I primi 500€: restauro di 20 biciclette da parte di FIAB PARMA e di una bici con carretto per poter portare Arte Migrante nelle piazze di Parma;
- I successivi 500€: acquisto di accessori per le biciclette come luci, lucchetti e campanelli;
- I successivi 500€: per il sostentamento delle attività portate avanti da Arte Migrante (eventi, manifestazioni e spettacoli);
- Il ricavato aggiuntivo verrà devoluto per l’acquisto futuro di altre biciclette e per il sostentamento di Arte Migrante Parma.
IL VIAGGIO (scopri il percorso)
Il 15 di agosto Nicolò e Timoteo partiranno da Amsterdam con l'obiettivo di arrivare a Sarzana (SP) il 30 di agosto. Li aspettano 1.400km e 10.000 metri di dislivello, attraversando Olanda, Germania, Francia, Svizzera e Italia. Viaggeranno leggeri, con solamente le loro bici, qualche borsa e una tenda per dormire.
