Chicago Marathon 2023 x Iris Accoglienza

Ciao!

Mi chiamo Lorenzo e ho 28 anni.

Domenica 8 Ottobre 2023 correrò la mia 5ª Maratona (dopo Roma, Lago Maggiore, Berlino e Torino), dall’altra parte del mondo nella fantastica Chicago.

Per questa occasione vorrei fare molto di più di 42,195 km. Vorrei “portare” con me Iris Accoglienza, una piccola realtà del mio territorio, che aiuta i ragazzi diversamente abili. Conosco personalmente chi ci lavora e ho già svolto ore di volontariato presso di loro.

Il mio obiettivo è quello di battere il mio record personale di 3:57!

Tutto il ricavato sarà donato a Iris accoglienza.

L’Iris Accoglienza è una Cooperativa Sociale di tipo A, cioè di tipo socio-educativa, O.N.L.U.S (Organizzazione Non Lucrativa di Utilità Sociale) che gestisce il Centro Socio Educativo “Padre Alfredo Imperatori s.j.”

Propone attività animative, educative e formative a persone con un handicap psicofisico di grado medio, offrendo un ambito relazionale e di socializzazione accogliente e stimolante.

Hi!

My name is Lorenzo, I'm from Gallarate, a city near Milan (Italy) and I’m 28 years old.

On October 8th, 2023 I will run my 5th Marathon (after Rome, Lake Maggiore, Berlin and Turin), in the beautiful location of Chicago, USA.

For this special occasion I would love to run more than just 42,195 km / 26.2 miles . I would love to “run” it with Iris Accoglienza, a small reality of my hometown that helps people with disabilities.

I personally know the people that work there and I volunteered in the past with them.

My goal is to beat my personal best of 3:57!

All the donations will be given to Iris Accoglienza.

Iris Accoglienza is a type A Social Cooperative, i.e. a socio-educational one, a Non-Profit Organization which manages the Socio-Educational Center "Padre Alfredo Imperatori s.j." It offers entertainment, educational and training activities for people with a medium degree of psychophysical handicap, offering a welcoming and stimulating relational and socialization environment.
