Sister Island ONG - Zanzibar Island

Mi chiamo Francesca Micheli e sono la fondatrice di Sister Island, un'organizzazione no-profit ufficialmente registrata a Zanzibar (nel villaggio di Nungwi a nord dell'isola) e parallelamente ODV ETS regolarmente attiva anche in Italia, che gestisce un asilo per oltre 188 bambini dai 3 ai 6 anni.

Abbiamo appena costruito una nuova struttura più grande e ospitiamo gratuitamente bambini provenienti da famiglie svantaggiate. Senza il nostro aiuto, non potrebbero ricevere un'educazione, che dovrebbe essere un diritto di ogni bambino. Ci occupiamo anche di sostenere la comunità locale rispondendo alle loro esigenze, in accordo con le istituzioni locali, attraverso per esempio la realizzazione di pozzi e orti sociali.

Stiamo raccogliendo fondi per sostenere l'asilo e il nostro nuovo obiettivo è costruire anche la scuola primaria per dare continuità al nostro progetto educativo.

My name is Francesca Micheli and I am the founder of Sister Island, an officially registered nonprofit organization in Zanzibar (Nungwi village) that runs a kindergarten for over 188 children aged 3 to 6.

 

We have just built a new larger structure and are hosting children from poor families for free. Without our help they could not have an education and live a happy life, which every child should have. We also take care of supporting the local community by responding to their needs, in agreement with local institutions.

We are raising funds to support kindergarten and our new goal is building also the primary school in order to continue our educational project.
