UNA SPERANZA PER ANGELO

Salve a tutti, sono Elena e ho deciso di attivare questa raccolta fondi finalizzata a supportare le cure mediche del mio papà. Il mio papà si chiama Angelo Chirulli, ha 64 anni e da più di quattro anni è malato di SLA.

La SLA (Sclerosi Laterale Amiotrofica) è una brutta bestia, è una malattia neurodegenerativa invalidante, che colpisce il motoneurone. Purtroppo è anche una malattia progressiva, che porta alla perdita dei motoneuroni spinali, bulbari e corticali, conduce alla paralisi dei muscoli volontari, fino a coinvolgere anche quelli respiratori. Ogni azione quotidiana, come vestirsi, lavarsi, muovere gli arti o mangiare, inizia ad essere sempre più rallentata dalla malattia, fino a portare il paziente alla difficoltà respiratoria e poi alla morte. Il mio papà adesso deve usare la sedia a rotelle e necessita di essere aiutato nella normale routine quotidiana. Purtroppo non esiste ancora una vera e propria cura per questa grave malattia. Ci sono però terapie e altri trattamenti sperimentali che la ricerca sta portando avanti e su cui vorremmo puntare per aiutare Angelo. Il denaro raccolto verrà impiegato per il pagamento delle terapie e per tutto ciò che riguarda la parte medico-sanitaria. Tutto verrà deciso in base alle donazioni che riceveremo e alle nuove strade che la medicina e i vostri contribuiti potranno aprire. Anche un piccolo aiuto può fare la differenza. ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is an ugly beast, it is a disabling neurodegenerative disease, which affects the motor neuron. Unfortunately it is also a progressive disease, which leads to the loss of spinal, bulbar and cortical motor neurons, leads to paralysis of the voluntary muscles, even involving the respiratory ones. Every daily action, such as dressing, washing, moving the limbs or eating, begins to be slowed down more and more by the disease, leading the patient to respiratory difficulty and then to death. My dad now has to use a wheelchair and needs help with his normal daily routine. Unfortunately, there is still no real cure for this serious disease. However, there are therapies and other experimental treatments that the research is carrying out and on which we would like to focus to help Angelo. The money raised will be used to pay for the therapies and for everything related to the medical-health part. Everything will be decided on the basis of the donations we will receive and the new paths that medicine and your contributions can open. Even a little help can make a difference.
