Richmond AP Calculus Student Care Packages

My name is Jerry Nelluvelil, and I am a math teacher at Leadership Public Schools Richmond in Richmond, CA.
The COVID-19 pandemic has made all facets of life difficult. Many have lost their jobs, loved ones, and lives during this time. The pandemic has been especially hard to my students' communities in the Richmond-San Pablo-Hercules area. Time and time again, my students tell me that they cannot attend class because they are ill with COVID or are caring for parents who have contracted the virus. Many of my students have had to take on one or two jobs as essential workers (grocery stores, restaurants, etc.) to support their parents, siblings, and other family members. It has been a trying time.
However, despite all of this, my 60 AP Calculus kiddos are rocking it. They continue to attend class, complete assignments, and are actually learning math. During a time when it's hard to emphasize the value of the derivative, my students are finding slopes of tangent lines with fervor and ease. They're logging in and showing up. I am so, so proud of their resilience.
To celebrate my students and their hard work, I was hoping to create care packages. These care packages would contain class t-shirts, snacks, and some baked goodies I'd make for my kiddos. With 60 students, this is a pretty big cost for a third-year teacher. I would love if I could subsidize the cost to give these kids a little pick me up during this time and motivate them to rock that AP exam (when the time comes).
If this fundraiser goes over (which, wowow if it does), any extra funds would be used to provide even more items for the care packages (supplies, more goodies, etc.).
