Help Imsouane-local Mehdi rebuild his surf school

Donation protected
You may have heard of the one of a kind moroccan surf/fisherman village - Imsouane- that has been demolished in the last days. My really close friends Mehdi and Elena have their home and life there with mehdi being one of the true locals that has been living there since the beginning. Years ago he opened his own surf school to share his love for the surf with the people that came to visit. Since then he taught countless people to surf the waves of his home, created together with others the beautiful vibe of Imsouane that we all love and made everyone who came to his shop and the town center smile and feel welcomed.

Now all of a sudden the heart of this place is gone. With no chance to fight back and a 24hours notice (mehdi and elena had a couple of hours between being told to pack their stuff and the school being destroyed), the bulldozers started taking down homes, businesses, shops etc.

Both of their jobs are dependent on the school and the tourism of Imsouane. The winter months are financially the most important months of the year so for the start of the season they even invested into new material for the surf school but due to the demolition of their business they where left with no chance to pay back their bills or save up for the months to come, let alone to start their business from zero.

Back in the day Mehdi and his family have been living in the old part of the village (now destroyed too) for decades, inviting the earliest tourists of Imsouane into their home, making it the first guesthouse in the village.
Now, in less than a day, all of that is gone.

I'm grateful to know the old Imsouane and it is terrible and sad to see what they did to this special place. While I can not change anything about what has been done, I will return in two weeks to keep supporting the village, the businesses and to help Mehdi and Elena get back on their feet.
They have a small piece of land where they already started building to create a new surf project, a new work. With this situation there is just no money to keep paying the construction, the legal papers (really expensive but they need it, so they will be safe for the future), the material, paying leftover bills from the school, the everyday expenses without an income from the surf school...

I'm starting this fundraiser so that we can all together at least help small businesses like Surf time Morocco (Mehdis surf school) to get back up on their feet and preserve bit by bit a part of the true Imsouane spirit.

I will personally make sure that the money ends up in their hands and is being used for the right things.

Let's do this!
Thank you all so much,
Jule!
