Jada's (#vipers31) Medical Fund

A smile that lights up the field and a fastball that leaves batters in the dark.

For the past few years, Jada Savage has been working her craft as a pitcher and has become one of the most promising prospects in softball at the young age of 13.  Unfortunately, 2021 has been a year this family will never forget.

Spring was supposed to be an exciting time for Jada and her family.  They sold their home in south Georgia and were planning an exciting move to Senoia, Ga.  Janice, Jada's mom, would start a new job.

In late April, Jada's grandfather, Jeff, had a devastating fall from a roof.  After being airlifted to Tallahassee for emergency surgery, Jeff was left with two broken wrists, a broken ankle, and a recovery in a physical rehabilitation facility.  A few short days later, a tornado ripped through Douglas, Ga, causing significant damage to their home.  While these horrific events delayed their move, they were all finally able to move into their new home in June.

However, their lives wouldn't be settled for too long, as this family was hit with another tragedy in early July.  After returning from an impressive performance at the Colorado Sparkler, Jada landed in the hospital with vision loss in her right eye.  Following tests at Scottish Rite Hospital, the doctors found lesions on her brain and that her antibodies were attacking her body and possibly causing the decrease in vision. Doctors continue to work hard to uncover the cause, but Jada has undergone several plasma transfers in the meantime.  Like only Jada can, she fights for her health with her big, beautiful smile and cheerful attitude.  These tragedies have tested this family's strength but have not broken it.

The outpouring of your #vipers31 love and support for Jada has been inspiring.  The softball community is truly the best, and we believe together, we can do more to support Jada.  We are raising funds to help Jada's family with medical expenses as she receives treatment and a recovery plan.  If you would like to assist with their financial burden, any donation through Go FundMe would be greatly appreciated.  All funds raised will go directly to Jada's medical expenses.
