Bat Box Eagle Project for the Middlesex Fells
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Nicholas Cieri, and I am a Life Scout in Stoneham Troop 513 working towards the rank of Eagle Scout.
Over the past months, I have been working on my Eagle Project, in which I am planning, organizing, and facilitating the construction of six bat boxes in the Middlesex Fells Reservation. Namely, the boxes will be located at the Botume House Visitor Center and around the Sheepfold Dog Park. These bat boxes will provide an alternative roosting habitat for little brown bats, which are currently an endangered species in Massachusetts due to White-nose Syndrome. They will serve as clean homes for bats that are free of White-nose Syndrome, promoting the healthy upbringing of these local species.
In completing this community project, I will be one step closer on my journey towards becoming an Eagle Scout of Troop 513. Any contributions you make will be greatly appreciated, by both myself and the Middlesex Fells Reservation. Thank you!
