Help Dan's family through this medical emergency!

We (Patrick and Angie) are setting up this fundraiser on behalf of our good friend and co-worker Dan Malchow. Last Friday, Dan left work for the ER with "the worst headache of his life." Later that day, we transported Dan to St. Vincent's with a very grim prognosis as a patient we couldn't even recognize from a few hours earlier. Initial imaging had found lesions in his brain, liver and lungs and he was heavily medicated.

After arriving at St. Vincent's, they conducted an MRI and determined the brain lesion was thought to be an abscess. This was later confirmed during brain surgery. Brain biopsy results have not been returned and further evaluation and studies are yet to be completed to confirm the status of spots on his liver and lungs.

While Dan is insured through Chelsea's family plan, unfortunately, the HSHS system is out of network. This means they are faced with a significant out-of-pocket deductible. Your donations will go towards the medical expenses incurred in the ER (his ambulance transport is covered by his employer), all the tests, imaging, and surgical procedures required at St. Vincent's, and any necessary ongoing care.

Dan is someone who has dedicated his career to helping others in need. He's the first person to say, "I'll help with that," whether it's a welding project, camper adjustments or building a she-shed. Now it's our turn to help him when he truly needs it the most.
