Aiutate Benedetta nella lotta contro la MYT1L

Benedetta è un’adolescente che, sin dalla nascita, soffre di una patologia genetica tanto grave quanto rara: la MYT1L.

Di questa malattia sappiamo poco, ci sono solo 100 casi in tutto il mondo, debilita le capacità cognitive e motorie con conseguenti problemi di comportamento, dialogo, deambulazione e di obesità.

Nel 2008 è stato detto alla madre che Benedetta non sarebbe mai riuscita a camminare né a parlare ma lei non si è mai data per vinta cercando di offrire alla figlia le migliori cure possibili a costo di girare tutto il globo.

Grazie ad una clinica a Ginevra sono stati in grado di sconfiggere l’obesità, gli step da affrontare per permettere un migliore stile di vita a Benedetta sono ancora moltissimi; la malattia non è curabile del tutto ma, ulteriori cure adeguate, permetterebbero a Benedetta di condurre una vita più decente e serena.

A Panama c’è la possibilità di avere delle cure sperimentali con l’utilizzo di cellule staminali, Benedetta ha avuto la fortuna di poter partecipare ma i costi della terapia sono elevati; lo scopo di questa raccolta fondi è quello di poter realizzare il sogno di Benedetta e di un’intera famiglia che non smette mai di lottare per lei.

Benedetta is a teenager that, since birth, suffers of a rare genetic disease: MYT1L.

We know little about this disease, there are only 100 cases worldwide, it gives cognitive issues, motor issues, behavior issues, speaking issues and obesity.

In 2008 they told to Benedetta’s mother that Benedetta would never be able to walk or speak but she did not gave up and she tried to give Benedetta the best treatments, even travelling all around the world.

Thanks to a clinic in Geneva they were be able to treat obesity but the steps to take Benedetta to a better lifestyle are a lot.

The disease is not completely treatable but, further treatments, will permit Benedetta to have a more decent and peaceful life.

There’s the opportunity to get experimental treatments with stem cells in Panama, Benedetta is suitable but the costs of the treatments are very high.

The goal of this fundraise is to realize the dream of Benedetta and her family that doesn’t stop to fight for her.
