Help Catherine Robinson & her family

In late October 2021 Catherine Robinson (née Shanahan) began experiencing constant, agonising, stomach pain. By early December this bright, vivacious 32 year old was shockingly diagnosed with peritoneal, liver and lung cancer.

Catherine is originally from the lovely town of Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. She grew up on the outskirts in Ballyroe. At the age of 20 she headed to Portugal where she met and fell in love with Dan and has called the Algarve home since. They are frequent visitor to Tralee where Catherine has lots of family and friends.

Catherine will start chemotherapy at Portimão Hospital in January.

 

Many people in our local Algarve community have expressed their desire to offer support to Catherine, her husband Dan and two children, Sofia (age 5) and Serena (age 1) who are much loved by all.

 

Money raised will relieve financial stress for the young Robinson Family as neither Catherine nor Dan are able to work right now and both were previously self-employed. The intention is for money to sustain their living expenses, cover the additional costs of vital medicines for Catherine, transport to hospital appointments and much needed alternative therapies to complement the chemotherapy. It will also help provide Sofia and Serena with clothes and toys while their Mommy is sick. There is also the potential for private treatment in the battle to help Catherine overcome this disease.

 

Any financial donation that you can make will be greatly appreciated. The Robinson Family are pivotal in our community and this is a chance to give back to a wonderful bunch of humans.

Em meados de Outubro de 2021, a Catherine começou a queixar-se de dores agonizantes e constantes no abdómen. No início de Dezembro, esta alegre, vivaça jovem de 32 recebeu o chocante diagnóstico de cancro no peritoneu, fígado e pulmão.

Catherine vai iniciar tratamentos de quimioterapia no Hospital de Portimão ainda em Janeiro.

Muitos elementos da nossa comunidade local expressaram o desejo de ajudar a Catherine, o seu marido Dan e as duas filhas, Sofia (5 anos) e Serena (1 ano), que são muito queridas por todos.

O dinheiro angariado servirá para aliviar o stress financeiro da jovem família Robinson, uma vez que nem Catherine nem Dan têm condições de trabalhar neste momento e são ambos trabalhadores independentes. A intenção é de que o dinheiro sirva para apoiar as suas despesas correntes, cobrir as despesas adicionais de medicamentos essenciais para a Catherine, transporte para o hospital e terapias alternativas muito necessárias para complementar a quimioterapia. Também servirá para ajudar a providenciar roupa e brinquedos para a Sofia e a Serena enquanto a sua mamã estiver doente. Existe ainda o potencial para tratamento privado na batalha para ajudar a Catherine a vencer esta doença.
